Smartphone Side Panel – Mobile View Simulator & Synced Scrolling)

Privacy Policy
Smartphone Side Panel – Mobile View Simulator & Synced Scrolling
(Japanese name:
"Smartphone Side Panel" (the "Extension") shows a smartphone view of the page you are browsing in Chrome's side panel, next to the desktop view, and keeps navigation, scrolling and form input in sync between the two. This policy explains how the Extension handles information.
1. Information collected or transmitted
The Extension does not collect any user data.
- It never sends personal information, browsing history, page content or form input to the developer or to any third party. The developer does not operate any server for the Extension.
- It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind.
- It does not sell or share user data with anyone.
2. Information handled only inside your browser
To provide its features, the Extension handles the following information only inside your browser. None of it is ever transmitted.
| Information | Purpose | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| Settings (device model, orientation, display mode, touch mode and sync on/off) | To restore your settings next time | Stored in the browser (chrome.storage.local). Removed when you uninstall the Extension |
| URL of the active tab | To keep the desktop view and the smartphone view on the same page | Not stored |
| Scroll positions and positions of headings, images, etc. | To align the scroll positions of both views | Not stored |
| Form input (only while form sync is on) | To mirror what you type into the same field in the other view. Password, credit card and file fields are excluded | Not stored |
This information is only exchanged between the tab and the side panel within the same browser.
3. Request modification
Only for requests made by the smartphone view inside the side panel, and only while the side panel is open, the Extension:
- sets the User-Agent and User-Agent Client Hints to those of the selected device's browser (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android);
- removes headers that prevent embedding (X-Frame-Options, Content-Security-Policy) so that the page can be shown in the side panel.
Requests from your normal tabs are never modified. These rules are applied with Chrome's declarativeNetRequest feature, and the Extension does not read the content of any request.
4. Websites shown in the smartphone view
The smartphone view loads the same URL as the page you are viewing, in the same browser. As a result, you stay signed in to sites where you are signed in (the Extension does not read cookies or similar data). How those websites handle your information is governed by their own privacy policies.
5. Permissions
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
sidePanel | To show the smartphone view in the side panel |
tabs | To read the URL of the active tab so the smartphone view shows the same page, and to reflect navigation in the smartphone view back to the desktop tab |
scripting | To run the scripts that sync scrolling, navigation and form input, and the script that turns mouse input into touch input, on sites you have allowed |
storage | To save your settings |
declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess | For the request modification described in section 3 |
| Site access (optional) | To perform the above only on sites you have allowed |
Site access is not requested at install time. It is granted only when you choose "Allow on this site" or "Allow on all sites" in the side panel, and you can revoke it at any time from the Extension's details page in chrome://extensions.
6. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
The use of information by the Extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date will be revised.
8. Contact
For questions about this policy, please use the contact information shown on the Extension's Chrome Web Store page.
